Garlic spinach – how to cook

Garlic spinach is a simple and flavorful side dish that can complement various main courses. This recipe highlights the natural taste of spinach while infusing it with the aromatic and savory notes of garlic.


  • 900g/2 lb fresh spinach
  • 2 tbsp. peanut oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tsp chopped lemon grass
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp. dark soy sauce
  • 2 tsp brown sugar


  1. Heat the oil, reduce the heat slightly and sauté garlic and lemon grass for 30 seconds.
  2. Add the spinach and salt and stir-fry for a further 1 minute.
  3. Add the soy-sauce and sugar and cook for further 1 more minute.
  4. Transferred to plate and serve with immediately
