Pancit Palabok Recipe

Pancit Palabok is a popular Filipino noodle dish that is known for its vibrant colors and delicious flavors. It is made with rice noodles, a savory shrimp sauce, and various toppings such as shrimp, crushed chicharon (pork cracklings), boiled eggs, and green onions.

This dish is a staple in Filipino cuisine and is often served during special occasions and gatherings.

Ingredients 

  • 1 pouch (55g) Mama Sita's Oriental Gravy (Palabok) Mix - Add to Cart
  • 2½ cups (625ml) Water or Unsalted soup stock
  • 6.7 oz (190g) Rice noodles (bihon) -Add to Cart
  • 1 tbsp (8g) minced garlic 
  • 1/4 cup (15g) Smoked fish (tinapa) flakes
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) Cooking oil

Garnish 

  • 2 pieces Hard boiled eggs, peeled and sliced into wedges
  • 3tbsp (15g) Spring onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup (100g) Shrimps, boiled and peeled
  • 1/4 cup (15g) Smoked fish (tinapa) flakes
  • 1 tbsp (15g) Fired minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup (30g) Crushed cracklings
  • 1/2 cup (100g) Squid, cooked and cut into rings

Directions 

  1. Dissolved Mama Sita's Oriental Gravy (Palabok) Mix in water or unsalted soup stock
  2. In a wok, saute garlic and tinapa flakes in oil, then stir in dissolved mix.
  3. Bring to boil, stirring till thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  4. Put bihon in serving platter and pour sauce over it. Garnish with eggs, spring onions, shrimps, smoked  fish (tinapa) flakes, garlic, cracklings and squid. Serve with calamansi (Philippine Lemon) and fish sauce (patis).
